This collection is comprised of three types of records: biographical book excerpts, obituaries and newspaper clippings. Commencing around 1870, and after more than a century of work, over 1,500 publications were indexed by the Wisconsin Historical Society librarians in order to form this collection of records from the local written media about Wisconsin residents.
